1 - Achieve Pole Studio by Andrea Ryff
Achieve Pole Studio is run by Australian Pole Champion 2014 and International Pole Champion 2018, Andrea Ryff.
Andrea discovered pole dancing 11 years ago. It became a passion that led her to compete at the highest level and to open Achieve in 2012.
Andrea and all her student polers focus on two things: fun and fitness.
The moment you get in, they’ll treat you as family. Andrea and the Achieve team will be with you every step as you increase your confidence, skills, and physique while having the time of your life.
They have small groups (max. 10 students) and a variety of one-hour classes for different pole dancing styles—static and spin pole, chair, and lap dancing. Also, they have training sessions focused on strength, flexibility, and resistance at their sister studio next door.
On top of this, they offer private classes if you want to speed up your progress.
"One of the best studios in Sydney. A welcoming community where everyone feels a sense of 'belonging.' Andrea is a fantastic teacher with extensive experience and is good at making new students feel comfortable. I like that she focuses on technique and injury prevention but also reassures students that there is no "right way" and to just do what feels good. Would highly recommend it no matter what age or level of experience."
— Bonnie Maddock, Sydney, Australia

"I've been taking pole dancing lessons on and off since 2007, and this is the best studio I've been to in my experience. The teachers are so lovely and supportive, especially Jinx, Chilli, Lulu, and Harriet. The showcase nights are epic, where all the students perform. What a talented and inclusive bunch of people! It's made me rediscover my love for pole!"

How to Get Ready for Your Pole Dancing Classes in Sydney
Are you ready for your first session? You’ve arrived at the perfect time!
Those days when dry and scuffed skin was the mark of a great pole dancer are gone.
Pole dancers would rely heavily on alcohol-based grip aids to improve their grip, but that was a mistake.
When you have dry skin, those aids make it worse because they absorb your skin’s humidity, making it less flexible and unable to “kiss” the pole.
On top of that, dry skin tends to form a layer of peeling, over which grip aids may leave a residue, reducing grip even more.
We've discovered that having healthy and moisturized skin improves your grip on the pole.
Healthy skin will "cuddle up" the pole, which will make you grip better without the need for excessive strength. This will save energy in your routines and help you progress faster.
Hydrated skin will have a natural grip that reduces the need for aids. In fact, grip aids are designed to work on healthy skin only to absorb excessive sweat.
Dry skin slips, healthy skin grips.
If you want to have healthy skin that will give you that edge on the pole, we recommend you do two essential things:
- Exfoliating 2–3 times per week
- Using a moisturizing lotion specific for pole dancers
At Pole Physics, we created the first variety of moisturizing lotions designed for polers.
Regular moisturizers tend to leave an oily layer on the skin, making it slippery. We’ve formulated our lotions to absorb rapidly and completely, leaving no residue.
Pole Physics lotions will soothe and hydrate your skin to improve its natural grip and help hasten its recovery between poling sessions.
We have a wide variety of lotions for different needs:
- Sensitiv+e (unscented) Lotion: Specially for sensitive skin, chrome or nickel allergies, and sores. It’s our unscented and children-safe moisturizer lotion
- Luxe Gradual Tan Lotion: Uses a gradual tanner that absorbs into your skin and leaves no residue. Perfect to hydrate and tan your skin at the same time
- Arnica & Green Tea Lotion: Ingredients to soothe your skin and give it a supple and radiant appearance. With a subtle and pleasing vanilla scent
- Aussie Lemon Myrtle Lotion: We combine Australian lemon myrtle, leaf oil, lavender oil, vanilla, and fruit extract in a luxuriously-scented moisturizing lotion
- Pole Mumma Lotion: An unscented lotion for nursing moms that care about their baby's sensitive skin. Moisturize without interfering with mum-and-bub bonding
What to Wear to Pole Dance Comfortably
As you probably know, polers need complete freedom of movement to perform twists, spins, flexes, and grabs. Also, as we mentioned, your skin is as important as your strength for having a good grip on the pole.
Pole dancing clothes stay close to your body, give you freedom of movement, and leave enough of your skin out. These are usually leggings, bodys, tank tops, or long shorts. But as you become more confident, they may become bikinis, small tops, or sports briefs.
All these are light clothes, so they must absorb sweat discreetly, and, if you’re a woman, get you covered in “those” days.
At Pole Physics, we have a line of essential pole wear from EnviroCo with all such qualities. Check out our leggings, crop tops, and period pants for polers.
